Egypt’s garment exports surge as Turkiye’s apparel industry falters

Egypt’s ready-made garment exports rose 15 per cent year-on-year to $1.15 billion in the first four months of 2026, with April up 33 per cent.
The Apparel Export Council of Egypt plans 22–25 per cent annual growth to lift sector output to $12 billion by 2031.
Chinese and Turkish manufacturers are opening facilities in Egypt, drawn by labour costs and preferential trade access.
