Myanmar’s apparel exports fall 16.5% in H1, Japan demand holds firm

Myanmar’s apparel exports fell 16.5 per cent year on year to $2.282 billion in January-June 2026 as demand weakened in several key markets.
Japan stayed the largest destination, with shipments edging up to $603.39 million and its share rising to 26.44 per cent.
Top-five market reliance remains high, keeping sourcing and capacity planning exposed to buyer concentration.
