Africa’s garment exports to the US reached a record 4.36 per cent market share in Q1 2026, rising to $808.49 million from $768.02 million a year earlier, according to TexPro.
The gain came as overall US apparel imports declined, helping Africa strengthen its position despite weaker demand.
The region is emerging as a more significant apparel supplier to the US market.
