Australian apparel imports fall while textiles gain in July-May

Australia’s textile and apparel trade showed mixed trends in July–May FY2025-26.
Apparel imports fell 4.74 per cent to Au$11.62 billion, while textile yarn, fabric and fibre imports increased.
Textile fibre exports rose 6.74 per cent, although May imports of apparel, textiles and fibres declined year on year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
